Lao Qiao's Poem No.1 12: Respecting Every Grain —— Talking about "Compassion for Farmers"

1. Li Shen's poem "Benevolence for Agriculture"

The Tang Dynasty poet Shen Li once wrote two poems, one of which is:

At noon in summer, the sun is very hot, farmers are still working, and beads are dripping into the soil.

Who knows that every grain of Chinese food is hard?

(772-846), Han nationality, from Qiaocheng District, Bozhou City, Anhui Province, from Wucheng County (Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province), is the great-grandson of Secretary Li. When I was young, I studied at Huishan Temple in Wuxi, Runzhou (now Jiangsu). At the age of 27, he was admitted to middle school and became a teaching assistant. He became close friends with Yuan Zhen and Bai Juyi. The most brilliant part of his life is poetry. He is a participant in the new Yuefu movement, which has great influence in the history of literature. He wrote 20 new poems about Yuefu, which have been lost. His poem "Compassion for Farmers" wrote: "It is noon when weeding, and sweat drips down the soil. Who knows that every grain is hard. " It is well known to all women and children, and it has been told through the ages.

This poem describes the hardships of farmers' labor and their indignation at wasting food. The meaning of the poem is: at noon in midsummer, farmers hoe the ground in the scorching sun and sweat drops on the crops. But who knows, every grain of rice in the bowl contains the hardships of farmers!

There is a famous saying in "Zhu Jiaxun", which, like the poem "Compassion for Farmers", has the significance of admonishing waste. "It is not easy to think about a porridge and a meal; Half a silk and half a wisp, it is difficult to save material resources. " Ironically, at first, I understood the origin of this sentence, which was said by Xiao Shenyang on TV. In his family, the whole family should read this sentence before eating. He is extremely greedy, amassing countless wealth, and knows how to cherish property in this way, especially for us.

2. Think of my second brother who is still farming at home.

My family has been a farmer since childhood, and I am used to the hard work of my parents, brothers and sisters in the fields. Work at sunrise and rest at sunset. But the point is, being so busy is not rich. Before the land is fixed to households, it is still managed by a large collective. The food distributed throughout the year, including wheat, corn and sweet potatoes, can't solve the problem of food and clothing for the whole family. In spring, when the crops are confiscated, we need to borrow some food to maintain our lives.

After the land contract, the situation has improved. Every household has surplus grain. The villagers kept enough food for one year, and then sold the rest to supplement their families. Farmers in the traditional sense have no money to invest in projects.

In these years, there is no profit in farming. After one year, it will be good to have 1,000 yuan left per mu of land, excluding the expenses of watering, fertilization, pesticides and seeds. At present, the second brother is the only one farming in the family. It turned out to be more than 5 acres. Because my second sister-in-law went to the town where I lived to look after my nephew, my second brother couldn't grow that much, so he sublet it to others and planted some. Now he has planted more than 3 acres. According to the annual net surplus of one mu of land 1000 yuan, the surplus of three mu of land is 3,000 yuan, plus the rent of another two mu of land *** 1600 yuan, the annual income is 4,600 yuan, which is all the investment of the second brother in one year.

I went to see my second brother on the third day of the first month and gave him several hundred dollars. The second brother excused me: "I can't spend much money at home alone, but I can get by." Unlike you in the city, there are many places to spend money. "Finally, at my insistence, my second brother accepted it. Although some people outside us think that the second brother's life is hard, the second brother is quite satisfied. The 27th day of the first month. Let's go back to celebrate our second brother's birthday together. While drinking, we talked about the life of farmers now. The second brother also said: "The policy is good now. After the age of 60, the state still pays a monthly pension 175 yuan. This is very good. The country will give money for planting the land. " Say that finish he hey hey smile. However, what can 75 yuan do every month/kloc-0? A neighbor's brother said, "Eating steamed bread for one year is enough. "

3. Experience the taste of "sweat dripping on the soil"

Many years ago, when I was in junior high school, the land in my family had been distributed to every household. My family planted ten acres of land at that time. The eldest brother works in forestry bureau, the second brother went to the northeast, and the third brother went to technical secondary school to go to school. My brother and I go to school at home, and my mother does all the housework for the whole family. The heavy responsibility of farming fell on my father and sister-in-law. When I was in junior high school, I sometimes went to work in the fields with my parents and my sister-in-law. That time, it was to fertilize the corn. My father helps me and my sister-in-law helps me. My task is to cover the ploughed fertilizer with soil. Corn has been above my head, entering the corn field like a steamer, which makes people suffocate without labor. Corn leaves grazed my cheeks and arms again and again, leaving scratches and pains. It was almost noon at that time, and the sun was roasting the earth. The sweat on my head and body is DC, and even the soil under my feet is hot. The plastic sandals I wore burned my feet, which was particularly uncomfortable. I have to take off my shoes, but pebbles and tiles prick my feet from time to time in the soil, so I have to put them on again. Sweat trickled down my face and back, and even the sweat pores on my arms were stained with sweat from time to time. I have to wipe the sweat off my face again and again with a handkerchief, otherwise, the sweat will flow into the corner of my eye and blur my vision. Later, the handkerchief could be screwed into the water, and there was an unpleasant smell of ammonia ... Finally, the task of fertilization was completed. When I get home, my face is like a big red cloth. When I got home and washed my face, I couldn't eat any more lunch. I fell asleep on the kang. It was the first time that I really felt the taste of "sweat dripping on the soil".

? I remember that my sister-in-law poisoned cotton in the summer vacation of high school, so I had to go to the cotton field to plant it for her. That was the first time I carried a medicine bucket. The heavy medicine bucket on my shoulder makes my shoulder ache. I finally finished taking the medicine, and my whole left arm was blue. Sweat ran down my forehead and canthus, and I wiped it with my hand, mixed with the smell of medicine, which made me feel terrible. Only once or twice did such an experience make my painful memory so profound, but my father, my eldest sister-in-law and thousands of villagers in Qian Qian, generation after generation, worked hard day after day in this land that gave birth to us.

I have deep feelings for farmers, because my ancestors were farmers, I was born a farmer, my relatives are still farmers now, and thousands of villagers in Qian Qian will always be farmers. Respecting farmers means respecting yourself. Respect farmers and cherish every grain!
