Five (37) Reading: Taste Emotion through Images —— Analysis Method of Modern Poetry Reading

The first unit of the first volume of the ninth grade is the "activity-inquiry" unit, in which "task one" is five modern poems of "learning and appreciation". Although students have learned some modern poems before, it is still difficult to appreciate the whole activity unit as the basis of "reciting poems" and "writing poems" in the subsequent "Task 2 and Task 3". Because modern poetry is different from prose, the language is simpler, the feelings are stronger and the imagination is richer. But as long as we grasp the characteristics of modern poetry, firmly grasp the "images" of these modern poems, and then "imagine" their artistic conception, so as to taste the emotion of poetry and grasp the soul and core of poetry, we can truly understand poetry.

First, grasp the image.

Whether it is ancient poetry or modern poetry, it is to express emotions, which is the soul and core of poetry. There are two ways to express emotions: one is to express emotions directly, which is often easier to understand; There is also indirect lyricism, that is, expressing emotions with the help of a specific image. The concrete image of the author's emotion is often the image of poetry, so when reading poetry, grasping the image of the author's emotion is often the basis and premise of understanding emotion.

For example, when watching "Spring and Snow in Qinyuan", we should grasp the images of the Great Wall, Yellow River, Plateau and mountains to understand the snow scene written in the last film. The image chosen by the author is very broad and representative in the whole land of China, from which it is not difficult to find out how broad and magnificent the snow scene described by the author is. Another example is "I Love This Land", in which the author incarnates as a bird and chooses images such as land, river, wind and dawn to express his sadness, anger, confidence and hope through the singing form of birds.

Nostalgia explains the author's understanding of different connotations of "homesickness" at different ages by means of stamps, boat tickets, graves and straits. You are April Day on Earth, with the help of clouds, spring breeze, drizzle, flowers, full moon, swallows and other colorful images, especially the melted goose yellow, light green and white lotus, expresses the author's praise for love. With the help of spring breeze, spring grass, distant water, birds, floating clouds, the earth and other images, I saw and expressed my praise for spring and life.

It is not difficult to find that when a poet chooses an image, he must have chosen something or scenery that can contain his feelings and has obvious characteristics. These images become the carrier of the author's expression of emotion. In addition to the direct lyric sentences in poetry, the origin of emotion has a concrete sustenance, and as a reader, grasping these images will be the first step to understand the content of poetry and grasp the author's emotion.

Second, imagine the artistic conception

The language characteristics of poetry are very concise, with strong jumping between words and many blanks. If you don't imagine reading poetry, you can't walk into the artistic conception of poetry, let alone understand the author's emotions. Therefore, according to the language characteristics of poetry, we should imagine the artistic conception of poetry with the help of images in poetry, restore the scene when the author expresses emotions, and lay a good foundation for tasting the author's emotions.

The artistic conception of poetry is of course related to the imagination of every reader, and more importantly, it depends on the decorative language in front of the image, even the rhetorical language. These decorative or rhetorical languages often have a certain emotional color, and together with the images in poetry, they provide readers with a very broad and rich imagination space. As a reader, it is a very important step to imagine a large number of blanks in the poetic language and the artistic conception between words with strong jumping, that is, to restore the artistic conception and situation of the author's poetic writing at that time, and even to enrich it through imagination.

For example, in the poem "I Love this Land", "I should also sing with a hoarse throat: this land hit by the storm, this river of sadness and indignation that will always surge on us, this restless wind, and the extremely gentle dawn coming from the forest ...", please contact the backstage: Ai Qing is at19381. He wants to express his sadness and anger by singing birds. According to the background of the poet's creation of this poem, we readers can fully understand "being hit by a storm" with the help of the singing of "birds". In fact, its real connotation is that from the September 18th Incident to the 1937 Lugouqiao Incident, the Japanese invaders began a full-scale war of aggression against China, and the Chinese nation was destroyed. The author was also at that time. As simple as "being hit by a storm", we should imagine that it contains very rich content. "The river of grief and indignation, the wind of anger" is "forever surging" and "endless blowing", which obviously reminds us of how unyielding people surged into a river under the iron hoof of the Japanese army and fought the enemy with unyielding passion. Isn't this "forever" and "endless" a symbol of this rebellious spirit? Here, you can add many touching stories through association. Although it is only a very concise language expressed simply and profoundly in the poem, our readers can completely enrich it.

Another example is "when I was a child" in "Homesickness"? Homesickness is a small stamp ",the image of a simple" stamp ",we can imagine that young students who have left their hometown are wandering outside, missing their hometown day and night, and missing their mother. In that special era, people's information transmission mode was mainly through letters. When a small stamp is attached to the envelope, those feelings written on the stationery that miss the mother's hometown will be pinned; We can even imagine how the homesick author can't wait to go out, send this letter affectionately, and carefully paste that little stamp. And at the other end of my hometown, how did my mother expect it? Perhaps leaning on crutches, perhaps facing the west wind, on the side far away from the son of Wanli, the expression of silver hair and waiting for it can be imagined. What kind of mother-child affection is that? What kind of longing and yearning is that? These numerous gaps require our readers to develop rich association and imagination, so that the concise language of poetry can also produce a strong sense of picture and situation.

The imagination of poetic artistic conception must rely on the image of poetry, the emotional modification and rhetoric before the image. The imagery of poetry must conform to the artistic conception created by poetry and be combined with the poet's creative style and writing background, so that the reader's imagination can restore the original scene of poetry creation and the scene when the poet expresses his feelings, even more fully than the poet himself. Readers' imagination of poetic artistic conception is actually a kind of secondary creation, a spiritual dialogue between readers and poets, and an emotional exchange and creation in itself.

Third, taste emotions.

Poetry takes emotional expression as its core and soul, and it serves to express the author's feelings, whether with the help of images or through imaginary artistic conception. The poet's emotional expression needs us to carefully taste and experience the images and modified language of poetry, and then restore the situation and feelings through artistic conception imagination, so as to truly enter the poet's heart and grasp the emotion or philosophy expressed by the author. Of course, direct lyric sentences may be more direct and easier to express emotions.

For example, at the end of I Love This Land, the poet said, "Why are there always tears in my eyes? Because I love this land deeply. " The author named the theme in a straightforward way. Facing the broken mountains and rivers, I feel pain and anger inside, and my love for my motherland is so deep. Therefore, the author directly expressed his love for my motherland with eyes full of emotion and tears, which was so sincere, profound, shocking and infectious.

Another example is the end of "Spring and Snow in the Garden": "The past is gone, count the romantic figures and look at the present." It is also a direct expression of eulogy and praise for proletarian revolutionary heroes, which makes us feel the comments of emperors and the guidance of authors. That is just a foreshadowing, the climax and theme of the author's expression of emotion.

Another example is "homesickness". "Homesickness is a shallow strait. I am here and the mainland is there. " Today's homesickness has been reflected in the mainland and Taiwan Province Province separated by this shallow strait, expressing patriotic thoughts. With the growth of age, the understanding of homesickness is constantly changing. The poet living in Taiwan Province Province said that homesickness is a shallow strait, how much he misses his hometown mainland and yearns for the reunification of the motherland! I deeply miss my children in my hometown, and it sublimates into the thought of home and country.

Of course, when reading poetry, we have to read it repeatedly and understand it with the help of various expressive methods of poetry. However, reading poetry, grasping the sentences that directly express emotions in poetry, or using images that indirectly express emotions are excellent starting points; Then, by connecting the modifiers in front of the background and image, it is relatively easy to expand rich association and imagination, restore the situation of poetry creation, and then experience and taste the author's emotions.
