Translation
It is the season suitable for picking lotus in the south of the Yangtze River again. The lotus leaves emerge from the water, squeezed together, one on top of another, and flutter in the wind. Under the dense lotus leaves, cheerful fish are playing non-stop.
He was here for a while, and suddenly swam there again. It was unclear whether it was to the east, west, south or north.
This poem is one of the "Xianghe Song Ci Xianhe Qu", originally found in "Song Shu Yue Zhi", and can be regarded as the originator of lotus picking poems. The main purpose is to write about the beautiful scenery at a good time and enjoy yourself at the right time. Shen Deqian, a native of the Qing Dynasty, commented on this poem as "Qige" (Volume 3 of "The Source of Ancient Poetry"). Zhang Yugu believes that this poem does not describe flowers but only leaves, which means that the leaves are lovely, and the flowers are not to mention.
In general, this kind of folk song is purely natural. The original creator may not have intended it, but it naturally shows the lively vitality of nature. Mr. Yu Guanying believes that the following four sentences of "Fish Playing with Lotus Ye Dong" may be "harmony". The first three lines are sung by the lead singer, and the last four lines are sung by everyone.
This is a folk song from the Han Dynasty. The poem uses a large number of repetitive sentence patterns and words, showing the simple and clear style of ancient folk songs. The poem describes the lively and joyful scene of lotus picking in the south of the Yangtze River. From the swimming fish passing back and forth and playing happily, we seem to hear the laughter of the lotus pickers.
"Tiantian" in the poem refers to the lush appearance of lotus leaves.
The ancients also associated lotus with love. Don't be poetic.
