There are 5/kloc-0 ethnic minorities in Changchun, with a permanent population of 328,000. There are five ethnic minorities: Manchu, Hui, Korean, Mongolian and Xibe.
There are four ethnic townships, namely Shuangyingzi Hui Township in Shuangyang District, Hu Jia Hui Township in Jiutai District, Manka Manchu Township in Jiutai District and Korean Township along the river in yushu city. 43 villages inhabited by ethnic minorities.

Changchun has jurisdiction over 7 districts, 3 county-level cities and 1 county (Nanguan District, Chaoyang District, Kuancheng District, Erdao District, Luyuan District, Shuangyang District, Jiutai District, Gongzhuling City, yushu city, dehui city and Nongan County).
Among them, Changchun Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changchun Jingyue Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone and Changchun Economic and Technological Development Zone are four national development zones, 1 Eco-tourism Resort-Lianhuashan Eco-tourism Resort. It also manages 1 national new district, namely Changchun New District.
