Bai Hua, playwright and poet. His original name is Chen Youhua, a native of Xinyang City, Henan Province. In the spring of 1942, he and his twin brother Ye Nan (Chen Zuohua) were admitted to the junior high school of Huangchuan Middle School. They read a lot of literary works after class. From middle school, they began to learn to write poetry, prose, and novels. In 1947, he joined the Central Plains Field Army and served as a propaganda officer. Joined the Communist Party of China in 1949. He has successively served as publicity officer, education officer, and director of the division club. In 1952, he worked beside He Long, and then worked as a creative staff in the creative rooms of the Kunming Military Region and the General Political Department. In 1958, he was mistakenly classified as a rightist, expelled from the Party and the military, and worked as a fitter at the Shanghai Bayi Film Machinery Factory. In 1961, he was transferred to Shanghai Haiyan Film Studio as editor and screenwriter. In 1964, he was transferred to Wuhan Military Region Repertory Theater as screenwriter. In 1979, he was rehabilitated, restored to party membership, and worked in the Culture Department of Wuhan Military Region.
