Literary achievements
Author of eight volumes of "Lanting's Manuscripts". (Ming History Biography 175 Wenyuan 3). Poetry style
Although the content of Liang Youyu's poems is not profound and broad, he can still be graceful and satirical. Some of his epic poems express his feelings about the current times. For example, "Han Gong Ci" actually satirizes Emperor Jiajing's absurd behavior of collecting young girls in order to refine the golden elixir for longevity. Some of his poems to friends also contain hidden concerns about the political situation at that time. "Happy Return to Huai Liu Farewell to Li Yulin, Xu Zi and the Zongzi Xiang Wang Yuanmei's Four Sons One Hundred Rhymes" describes in more detail the reality of foreign and internal troubles that "the wounds have not yet subsided, and the wars have continued", which is frightening. In addition, his large number of eulogizing poems not only express his sympathy for the people with lofty ideals who have not shown their talents in the past and present, but also show his feelings of being clean and upright, which is also of certain significance. The tone of his poems is affectionate and graceful, full of resentment and admiration. Although his words are gorgeous, they are not overly colorful. Li Shi, who coined the words, is still a new policeman. But in general, his poems are a bit weak in writing, not choppy enough, and not deep enough. His works include 8 volumes of "Lanting Collection", also known as "Bibu Collection". Character evaluation
Liang Youyu is a hospitable person who cares about wealth and has a wide range of friends. Many famous cultural figures at that time were proud to associate with him. He has traveled to many places in his life, and has worked in Beijing, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, Guizhou, Henan and other places. He has traveled to half of China. Wherever he goes, he never forgets to visit the local places of interest and likes to " Caihao commemorates famous mountains everywhere." His poems and inscriptions can be found in places such as the Song Dynasty Imperial City Site, Madam Xian Temple, Zhaoqing Qixing Rock in Guangdong, Tengwang Pavilion and Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi, Shexiangyi and Chishui River in Guizhou, and Kaiyuan Temple in Fuzhou, Fujian. Nowadays, these masterpieces have become valuable local cultural assets.
Liang Youyu has been wandering abroad for a long time, and his nostalgia is very strong. When living in a foreign country, he often feels homesick. After he returned to his hometown in his later years, he built a small garden outside the north gate and named it "Beiyuan". While growing vegetables, he lectured and wrote books. He lived an indifferent life and often used vegetable soup and bamboo sticks to entertain guests, which made him famous. Admirers came from all over the country. From Liang Youyu's large number of poetry works, we can discover his strong sense of national distress, sense of social responsibility, unique experience of social life, and his noble ideological character. The Five Sons of the Queen of Nanyuan
In the middle of the Ming Dynasty, the king was ignorant and the officials were corrupt, the eunuchs and evil officials were rampant, and taxes and servitude were heavy. As the country's fortunes declined, the poetry circle in the Central Plains also declined. However, poets and lyricists emerged in large numbers in southern Guangdong, and five more poets emerged during the Jiajing and Longqing years. They are known as the "Five Sons of Nanyuan", namely Ou Daren, Liang Youyu, Wu Dan, Li Minbiao and Li Shixing, three of whom are from Foshan. They pursued the legacy of the "First Five Sons" and once again formed a society in Nanyuan to recite poems and revitalize the southern poetry world.
The scene of Nanyuan at that time was as follows in the preface of Ou Daren's poem "Five Hues": "...the society (Nanyuan Poetry Society) has been abandoned and the garden remains, and the barren bamboo pond , half-covered in the Pengzhai, one can still imagine the graceful friendship and romance. "The specific time when the Nanyuan Poetry Society was rebuilt was in the 32nd year of Jiajing (1553), according to the description in Liang Youyu's article. ), "...restored the old society in Guangdong Mountain, invited old friends, and talked about the eternal things. When he wrote "Yong Huai" for the fifteenth time, people in the poetry society thought they were inferior." - Scholars in the Qing Dynasty generally believe that Liang Youyu's article The so-called "Old Guangdong Society" in the book is Nanyuan Poetry Society. Compared with the young age when the "Five Sons from Nanyuan" formed the association, the "Five Sons from Nanyuan" were generally close to their forties at this time. However, they were already familiar with each other when they were young, because they were both students of Huang Zuo, a well-known scholar at that time. Because of this, their common characteristic is that they were influenced by Huang Zuo's straightforward and unbridled poetic style. In the strong anti-ancient atmosphere at that time, I was able to more or less get rid of the bad habit of "writing must be based on the Qin and Han Dynasties, and poetry must be based on the prosperous Tang Dynasty", and more consciously inherited and developed the poetic style pioneered by the first five gentlemen of Nanyuan.
Perhaps because they have entered a stable middle age, their poetry also appears more mature and stable. Tan Cui of the Qing Dynasty commented: "Lingnan is known as a poet after Qujiang, and none is better than Nanyuan. The ten masters before and after Nanyuan are especially popular." Their poems were also famous in the Central Plains region. Liang Youyou's modern poetry is graceful and fresh, inheriting the realism tradition of the Lingnan School of Poetry. For example, "Visiting Liang Sibo's Scholars in Beishan": "The dust-free day in the bamboo dock is already dark, and I can hear several birds singing through the flowers. When I look at Pingwu, a cool breeze rises, blowing down thousands of trees and clouds in the river city."
