He has served as a professor at Beijing Normal University, a member of the Children’s Literature Committee of the Chinese Writers Association, a director of the Beijing Writers Association, and the director of the Children’s Literature Creation Committee. Began publishing works in 1957. Joined the Chinese Writers Association in 1979.
