Original text and appreciation of "Moonlit Night on the Spring River"

Dynasty: Tang Dynasty

Author: Zhang Ruoxu

Original text:

< p>The spring river tide reaches the sea level, and the bright moon rises on the sea.

The waves follow the waves for thousands of miles, but there is no moon on the spring river!

The river flows around Fangdian, and the moonlight shines on the flowers and forests like sleet;

The frost is flying in the sky unknowingly, and the white sand on the pavilion cannot be seen.

The river and the sky are completely dust-free, and there is only a solitary moon in the bright sky.

Who by the river sees the moon for the first time? When does the moon on the river shine on people for the first time?

Life has been endless from generation to generation, and the moon on the river looks the same year after year.

I don’t know who Jiang Yue is waiting for, but I see the Yangtze River sending water.

The white clouds are slowly disappearing, and the green maple pond is full of sorrow.

Whose family is in trouble tonight? Where can I miss the bright moon in the building?

The poor moon wanders upstairs, and it should be reflected on the makeup mirror.

The jade door curtain cannot be rolled up, and it will come back when it is smashed and brushed on the anvil.

At this time, we look at each other but do not hear each other, and I hope that the moonlight will shine on you.

Swan geese fly long and fast, fish and dragons dive and leap into the water.

Last night I dreamed of falling flowers in the pond, and it was a pity that I didn’t return home in the middle of spring.

The spring water in the river is gone, and the moon has fallen in the river pool and is setting in the west again.

The slanting moon hides the sea fog, and the Jieshi and Xiaoxiang roads are endless.

I don’t know how many people will return home by the moon. The falling moon shakes the trees all over the river with love.

About the author

Zhang Ruoxu (about 660-about 720), a poet in the Tang Dynasty. A native of Yangzhou (now Jiangsu). He once served as the military commander of Yanzhou. The year of birth and death and the name are unknown. Some of his deeds can be found in "Old Tang Book: Biography of He Zhizhang". Zhongzong Shenlong (705-707), together with He Zhizhang, He Chao, Wan Qirong, Xing Ju and Bao Rong, was famous in Kyoto for his handsome writing. He was also known as the "Four Scholars of Wuzhong" together with He Zhizhang, Zhang Xu and Bao Rong. Xuanzong was alive in Kaiyuan fashion. Only two of Zhang Ruoxu's poems are included in "Complete Poems of the Tang Dynasty". Among them, "Moonlight Night on the Spring River" is a well-known masterpiece. It follows the old title of the Yuefu of the Chen and Sui Dynasties to express the sincere and moving emotions of separation and the philosophical feelings about life. The language is fresh and beautiful, the rhythm is melodious, and it washes away the formal style of poetry. The rich and colorful powder gives people a clear, bright and natural feeling.

The spring river tide reaches the sea level, and the bright moon on the sea rises with the tide. The twinkling waves follow the waves for thousands of miles, but there is no moon on the spring river anywhere.

As soon as this beautiful picture is opened: the river is connected to the sea, and the moon is rising. The imagery is broad and bright, fresh and earthy, mysterious and hazy, and magnificent. A bright moon rises slowly from the Spring River, which makes people daydream about it. The word "生" gives the bright moon and the tide the vitality of life.

The river flows around Fangdian, and the moonlight shines on the flowers and forests like sleet. Frost is flying in the sky unknowingly, and the white sand on the pavilion cannot be seen.

The poet's skillful painting hand gently dyes the strange "flowers" in the moonlit night on the spring river, and cleverly leads to the title "Flowers on the Spring River in the Moonlit Night". The moonlight exquisitely dyes the world into a dreamy silver color, cleverly creating a mythical, beautiful and tranquil realm.

The river and the sky are completely dust-free, and there is only a solitary moon in the bright sky. Who first saw the moon by the river? When did the moon first shine on people?

A clear universe is the philosophy of life. That is: eternity-short-term, infinite time and space, limited life, the poet's soul has a divine communication with nature. It fully embodies the unique "cosmic consciousness" of Chinese poets.

Life is endless from generation to generation, but the river and the moon are only similar every year. I don’t know who Jiang Yue is waiting for, but I see the Yangtze River sending water.

Zhang Ruoxu used the old to bring forth the new in a unique way, and set the tone of the poem in a "sad but not sad" realm. The universe is eternal, the river and the moon are always there, and people pass it on from generation to generation. Naturally, from scenery to people, it contains profound meaning. It also cleverly leads to the feeling of parting and separation and hatred between men and women who miss each other.

The white clouds are slowly disappearing, and the green maple pond is full of sorrow. Whose family is in a boat tonight, where is the moonlight tower of lovesickness?

White clouds, Qingfengpu and other objects express feelings. The bright and quiet poetic environment is blended with sadness. It can be said to be a kind of lovesickness and separation, and the return of love. Back and forth, the poetry is rippling, with twists and turns. The poet imagines "Bian Zhouzi" missing his family and his wife with a wandering and uncertain heart. The meaning is broad and the emotion is melodious.

The poor moon wanders upstairs, it should be seen away from the makeup mirror. The jade door curtain cannot be rolled away, and it comes back when the clothes are smashed and brushed on the anvil.

These lines of poems are very clever. The poet did not write about his own longing, but wrote about how the imaginary loved one misses him. His love and guilt for the missing woman are beyond words. This deep feeling is so touching and engaging. , so persistent, it not only affirms the value of survival but also reflects the will of life.

Last night I dreamed of falling flowers in the pond, and it was a pity that I didn’t return home in the middle of spring. The spring water in the river is gone, and the moon has set in the west again.

Home is the most swaying yearning and destination. It is set off by the colors of spring, rivers, flowers, moon and night. The imaginary reality contains dreams. Such a superposition of time and space, virtuality and reality. The alternating, tactful and pathos writing style really achieves the artistic effect of "exhaustive words but infinite meaning".

The slanting moon hides the sea fog, and the Jieshi and Xiaoxiang roads are endless. I don’t know how many people are returning by the moon. The falling moon shakes the trees all over the river with love.

The poet envies the wanderer returning home on a moonlit night, imagining the warm home. The poem ends with a description of the scene, with emotion in the scene. "The falling moon shakes the trees all over the river with love" is the closing line. It can be said that it is both about the falling moon and sympathy. Let poetry, painting, and philosophy work together to create an ethereal and distant charming artistic conception.

The chain structure of this poem, which uses the moon as a clue and spring, river, flowers, moon and night as pearls, is very obvious. What's more, Xu Zeng of the Qing Dynasty had already explained in "Er'an Shuo Tang Poems": "The method of birth is used to spit out spring, river, flower, and moon word by word; the method of concluding is used to eliminate spring, river, flower, and moon. Sort it out word by word. ... This poem is like a chain of bones, each link is continuous and continuous, making the reader unable to look directly or sideways, and nowhere to find the clues to the five words "Spring River Flower Moonlight Night", each of which takes care of the sentient beings. ." It can be seen that the moon is like a life link in the whole poem, running up and down, and giving birth to spirit wherever it touches. The moon rises - hangs high - slants west - sets overnight. The philosophy of life contained in this is self-evident. There are thirty-six lines in the whole poem, four lines have one rhyme change, and one line has nine rhymes. Geng rhyme--Xie rhyme--Zhen rhyme--Zhi rhyme--You rhyme--Grey rhyme--Wen rhyme--Ma rhyme--Yu rhyme. The ups and downs of the poetry are perfectly matched with each other, so that the images of the five kinds of poetry are closely intertwined, harmoniously constructing the artistic conception of the poetry.
