Content introduction?

Interview with the Writer is a famous and enduring special column in the American literary magazine Paris Review. Since the interview with E.M. Foster in the first issue of 1953, the first issue of Paris Review has not published a long interview with contemporary great writers. At first, it was named "the art of fiction" and gradually expanded to "the art of poetry" and "the art of criticism". Up to now, it has reached more than 300 articles, including almost all the important writers in the world literary world since the second half of the twentieth century. Interviews with writers became the signature of Paris Review, and set a good example for this special style.

An interview, from preparation to actual implementation, often lasts for several months or even New Year's Eve, and it is not done to cooperate with the author's new book, and it has no commercial propaganda flavor. Writers naturally talk about their writing habits, methods, confused moments, and secrets of the literary world ... The content is full of interest and has important documentary value. In addition, some interesting things happened around the interview, which also made this column itself a legend, which can be described as "one of the longest cultural dialogues in world history".

Authorized by the Paris Review, we selected interviews with more than 60 interviewed writers familiar to China readers from the column Interview with Writers and published them in four volumes.

The Paris Review Short Story Classroom is a collection of short stories, all from the famous American literary magazine Paris Review.
