What is the gist of Su Shi's waiting theory?

The main purpose of Su Shi's waiting theory is to explain that "he will make great plans if he endures little anger". In order to make the argument convincing, the author extensively collects historical facts, and not only cites positive examples such as Zheng Bo's being naked and welcoming Chu, Gou Jian's eating his bread and tasting his courage, but also cites negative examples such as Xiang Yu and Liu Bang who are not good at forbearance, and demonstrates them from both positive and negative aspects.
