Liu Bannong
There was a fire in the room,
The host ordered to open the window to buy fruit.
Said, "it's not cold, the fire is too hot,
Don't let it burn me. "
There is a beggar lying outside the house.
Bite your teeth and shout "death!" Facing the north wind.
Duplicity,
Only separated by a layer of tissue paper!

Contrast is a common expression in the art of poetry. Contrast must be something completely opposite in form and nature. Du Fu's famous phrase "The wine in Zhumen stinks, and the bones on the road freeze to death" is a sharp contrast to the description of two things with completely opposite properties and characteristics. The life content expressed by a layer of paper is also of a comparative nature.
This poem shows two different lives and feelings. The owner of a rich family, sitting in a house with fire in winter, is warm. Not only did he feel cold, but he thought the house was too hot and worried that the fire would damage his health. In the old society, this was the life of the exploiting classes. Five or six poems turned to describe the situation of a beggar who was hungry and cold. He was lying outside the house, attacked by the cold north wind, freezing to death, and kept making noises and shouting. At this time, how much he longed for a place to shelter from the wind and keep warm, but in fact it could only be a fantasy. The last two sentences of the poem express the poet's feelings: the situation of the owner inside the house and the beggar outside the house is very different, and this difference is only separated by a layer of paper! Poor and rich, cold and hot, two kinds of life and feelings have formed a contrast, which constitutes a very strong contrast. These two poems are also full of the poet's dissatisfaction and indignation at the unfair social reality.
This poem is one of the vernacular poems produced in the early May 4th New Literature Movement in China. In the language of poetry, we do not pursue flowery rhetoric, but strive to be true, simple and plain. The rhythm of poetry is also lively and powerful. Especially in the last sentence, the rhythm reaches the strongest tone, which not only echoes the title of the poem, but also deepens the theme of the poem.
