After the devastating love between Rambo and Wei Erlun collapsed, Wei Erlun continued to write Rambo's poem 1874:
Wei Erlun wrote Tears in My Heart for Rambo.
Tears flow in my heart,
Rain is falling on the city;
Where did you get a burst of sadness?
Did you throw me so badly?
Ah, gentle rain!
The floor and roof should be in harmony.
For a depressed heart
Ah, the song of rain!
Flowing like this for no reason,
It makes my heart so sour!
How come? Endless?
This kind of sadness is also unprovoked!
Can there be more pain?
There is no way to comfort people?
Neither love nor hate,
My heart hurts.
/kloc-in September of 0/7, Rambo, a young poet of 0/7 years old, came to Paris with a letter from paul verlaine. Previously, Wei Erlun had read Rambo's poem "Drunk Boat" and was amazed. No one could have foreseen that this was the beginning of an epic romance-1paul verlaine, the French "king of poets" in the second half of the 9th century, fell in love with Rambo, a talented poet 10 years younger than him.
This is a same-sex love that is not allowed by the world. After the two lived together, they lived in luxury and indulgence, and drinking and smoking marijuana were common. Their behavior was not tolerated by the literary elite in Paris, and Rambo's arrogance made many people disgusted. During this period, Rambo wrote many powerful poems, and his poetic achievements even surpassed Baudelaire, the pioneer of symbolic literature.
1872, Wei Erlun abandoned his wife and starving son and eloped to London with Rambo. However, a year later, in the summer, two lovers quarreled at Brussels Railway Station. The irascible Wei Erlun took out his pistol and shot Rambo, who broke up with him, injuring his wrist. In a rage, Rambo called the police and Wei Erlun was arrested.
During his arrest, Wei Erlun was forced to undergo a series of humiliating psychotherapy because Wei Erlun's wife accused her husband of having an abnormal "friendship" with Rambo. During the trial, the judge sentenced Wei Erlun to two years' imprisonment, although Rambo repeatedly claimed that he had withdrawn the charges against Wei Erlun.
1875, Rambo and Wei Erlun met for the last time in German. By this time, Wei Erlun had been released and forced to convert to Catholicism. At this time, Rambo had had enough of his early indulgence, basically gave up his writing career and began to engage in some jobs that could bring him stable income. He started hiking in continental Europe. During this time, he no longer had same-sex feelings with men, but fell in love with many local women.
Wei Erlun returned to Paris. He abandoned his relatives and had to teach in the countryside. Wei Erlun later made a comeback and returned to Paris, becoming the "king of poets" of that era. The good times didn't last long, and the self-proclaimed "cursed poet" lived a life of drunkenness and debauchery, and finally died of poverty and illness.
Rambo died at the age of 37, and Wei Erlun died at the age of 52, both of whom were considered very young.
