What is a Vulcan?

The fire thief in the west is the famous Prometheus, and the inventor of China fire is the legendary Suiren. However, because fire is easy to get and difficult to put out in later generations, the title of Vulcan was not given to Suiren, but to several other historical legends who managed fire, especially those who could put out the fire. Among Vulcan, there are three biggest ones, namely Zhu Rong, Yan Di and Hui Lu. Emperor Yan is a Vulcan, which is related to his title. Zhu Rong and Huilu are Vulcan, which can be found in our ancient books. In ancient books, the word "fire" was replaced by the name of Hall. According to legend, Zhu Rong was Chi Di, the grandson of Zhuan Xu, one of the five ancient emperors. He taught people to use fire and killed the dragon. Zhu Rong's image is an official with black veil, red robe and white face. As for Huilu, his life experience cannot be clearly verified. As a Vulcan, he is more associated with fire. Historically, people often referred to fire as Hui Lu or Hui Lu disaster. In addition to the above Vulcan, there are some small Vulcan. For example, the eldest son of Di Ku, one of the five emperors, was good at igniting fire, so he was called "Huozheng". He died in Shangqiu county, Henan province, where there was his burial platform; Because he is considered to be Vulcan, this platform is also called Vulcan platform and Mars platform. There is a temple of fire on the stage for the statue of Bob. People pay homage to this fire, especially on the seventh day of the first month of each year, people come here to "welcome Taiwan" and form a grand local temple fair. Fire is extremely important to everyone, especially those engaged in metal smelting and manufacturing. In the past, blacksmiths had to pay special tribute to Vulcans. Talking about this local custom, Shandong folklore says: On the morning of every month 15, before the blacksmith makes a fire, he should worship incense and burn paper first, and ask Vulcan to bless the prosperity of the fire head; At noon meeting in jiaozi, bless Vulcan financial resources rolling in.
