Petofi [Hungary]
Autumn wind rustles among the trees,
It whispers softly to the leaves;
What are you talking about? But I can't hear you,
The tree shook its head and looked sad.
At any time from noon to evening,
I lie on the sofa. ...
My wife is sleeping quietly,
Her lovely head rested on my chest.
My happy hand
I felt her chest breathing,
The other hand is my prayer book:
A history of freedom struggle!
Warm words burn in my heart,
Like a giant comet ...
My wife is sleeping quietly,
Her lovely head rested on my chest.
People under tyrants,
Money and whips can drive them to fight;
What about freedom? Because of one of her smiles,
All her followers went to war,
It's like accepting a lover's wreath,
They accepted death and trauma for her ...
My wife is sleeping quietly,
Her lovely head rested on my chest.
Holy freedom! How many brilliant figures
What's the point of abandoning life?
Even if not now, there will be in the future.
The final victory in the struggle must belong to you,
You must avenge the people who died in battle,
Your revenge is terrible and clever! ……
My wife is sleeping quietly,
Her lovely head rested on my chest.
I have a vision of the future era in front of me.
It shows a bleeding scene,
All enemies of freedom are there.
Buried in your own blood! ……
My chest was torn by lightning,
My heart vibrates like thunder,
My wife is sleeping quietly,
Her lovely head rested on my chest.
(translated by Sun Yong)
This poem was written during the honeymoon period when the poet married his lover You Liya. Julia maesa was born in a Hungarian aristocrat and was the daughter of an earl. Despite her father's opposition, she married the poet. The poet loves his wife and cherishes the happiness of love and marriage, but he also loves freedom and is loyal to his social and political ideal of revolutionary democracy. The poet felt the contradiction between these two thoughts and feelings and had to choose between them. This contradiction and choice made the poet feel painful, but he finally chose the latter, showing the noble character of a revolutionary Democrat. The poet once wrote the famous short poem Freedom and Love in 1847+ 10, expressing this contradiction and choice: "Life is precious,/love is more expensive; /If you are free,/You can throw both! " In September of the same year, the poet wrote this poem "The autumn wind is whispering in the Woods ...", which shows the same ideological content as the previous work and can be said to be the companion of the previous work. The difference is that the previous poem only has four short sentences and one verse, and the expression is more general; This poem consists of five sections, which is longer, so it is more in-depth and detailed. Two poems can be read with reference to each other.
This poem begins with an autumn scene. The autumn wind whispers to the trees and says, "What?" The tree shook its head to indicate "inaudible" and looked "melancholy". This anthropomorphic autumn scenery formed a special artistic conception and revealed the contradictions and puzzles in the poet's mind. Why is this happening? The answer is: "My wife is sleeping quietly/her lovely head is resting on my chest." This poem appears repeatedly in every following section, indicating that it is the beloved wife who snuggles up beside him that always haunts the poet's mind. From the second poem, the poet's inner melancholy, confusion and contradiction gradually became clear: the poet touched his beloved wife's chest with one hand and felt her breath, while the other hand held his "prayer book"-The History of the French Revolution, a history of the French people's struggle for freedom. On the one hand, it is a wife, gentle and happy love; On the one hand, freedom is an ardent yearning and pursuit of revolutionary struggle. The poet's feelings gradually became excited, and the emotional forces behind him began to occupy the foreground of the spiritual stage: in order to be free, in order to liberate people from the tyrant's * * *, everyone should "go to the battlefield", just like "accepting a lover's wreath". The poet's revolution is like a surging wave, surging and overwhelming. He praised loudly: "sacred freedom! How many glorious figures/abandoned their lives "; He warmly appealed that in order to bury the "enemies of freedom" completely, all the "followers" of freedom should spare no effort even if they shed blood, because "the victory of the final struggle will surely belong to you." This is the meaning of life and the truth of revolution. Thinking of this brilliant scene of fighting for freedom, the poet's blood is boiling and his heart is surging: "My chest has been torn by lightning and my heart is shaking like thunder", but what about the joy and happiness of love? Or "My wife is sleeping quietly, and her lovely head is resting on my chest". Although the contradiction between love and freedom has not been finally solved in the poem, from the emotional development trend of the whole poem, the information that freedom is more expensive has been revealed.
This is a lyric poem that pursues freedom, yearns for revolution, longs for struggle and firmly believes in victory. Full of * * *, high tone, is the main feature of this poem. The poet said that the "warm words" in his "prayer book"-"History of Freedom Struggle" burned in his heart; Similarly, his poem advocating freedom and calling for struggle is full of "warm words" that make people "heartbroken". This high-pitched poem comes from the poet's distinct love and hate and firm belief. For the enemies of freedom and the society ruled by tyrants, the poet wrote an angry poem: "Tyrants, people under money and whips can drive them to fight." Give enthusiastic praise to those who love freedom: "What about freedom? For her smile, all her followers went to war. " Speaking of his own revolutionary beliefs, the poet's language is even more powerful: "Even if there is no one now, there will be one in the future./The final victory of the struggle must belong to you (referring to the followers of freedom)", "All enemies of freedom are buried in their own blood!" These poems full of * * * form a strong and high melody, which effectively conveys the poet's revolutionary desire.
This poem also shows the development process of the poet's revolutionary thoughts and feelings from weak to strong and finally * * *. At the beginning of the first poem, the poet's thoughts are hazy, and his desire for freedom is still hidden in his heart. In the second verse, the history of the French people's struggle awakened the poet, and the desire for freedom arose. In the third section, the poet calls on people to fight for freedom. In the fourth quarter, the poet is full of confidence and predicts that freedom will win. The fifth part expresses the poet's strong demand to join the struggle for freedom. When the poet's thoughts and feelings reach * * *, the whole poet is over.
