Why is poetry marginalized?

It is true that in the rapidly developing Internet era, poetry forums have sprung up like mushrooms after rain. Undoubtedly, the relaxed environment and the opening of language have brought about the prosperity and revival of poetry.

If those long and short sentences arranged in rows can be called "poems", the annual output is already amazing. Compared with the annual output of only a few thousand poems in the Tang and Song Dynasties, it is undoubtedly astronomical. Take tea and taste sweet. Com, for example, there are no fewer than 13000 poems in the tea column every month, not including the poems in tea forums and blogs. Poems from other websites and forums also abound. Open a webpage casually, and that word can't wait to get into your eyes.

So, where is the marginalization of poetry? Edge is not a vague concept. Taking its meaning is neither in the middle nor in the core. The marginalization of poetry here is relative to texture, that is, quality.

What is poetry? Poetry is the earliest literary style. In ancient times, happy people were called songs, and unhappy people were called poems. Modern poetry is an exotic product. It has the characteristics of the West, and at the same time it has absorbed the essence of China's classical poetry and evolved. Contemporary writing defines poetry as a language art with image as the element, imagination as the way, structural spiritual artistic conception as the center of gravity and rhythm as the form.

There are many reasons for the marginalization of poetry, which I think are mainly manifested in these aspects.

First, lack of creativity.

Creativity is the source of all literature and art, and so is poetry. Poetry pays more attention to the washing, precipitation and jumping of language. Subjective experience, objective thinking and rich imagination are the three lifelines to achieve the essence of poetry. Prose and other styles emphasize detailed description and plain narration. This is a taboo in poetry. Poetry rejects prose.

Poetry is vague and its meaning cannot be expressed in words. Wang Fuzhi of A Qing Dynasty explained in poetry translation: "Writers think in the same way, and readers are complacent with their feelings." A good poem has profound meaning and long rhyme. Its blank space can arouse readers' infinite reverie and produce a montage-like taste.

Nowadays, most poems on the internet tend to be plain and straightforward, with insufficient details. Take local poetry as an example. Now local poetry accounts for a large proportion in the forum. Local complex is our eternal spiritual home and emotional destination. There are inexhaustible creative themes and rich connotations. However, many local poems are stuck in the traditional thinking. The use of language is out of date and the image is old-fashioned. "What's the taste of eating steamed bread chewed by others?" . Other poems are relatively novel in topic selection, but the depth of excavation is not enough, the skills are limited or lacking, the language lacks tension and elasticity, and the narrative is superficial. Such works look thin and childish, like young teenagers, lacking the charm of mature women and the masculinity of middle-aged men. Good poetry is reserved. Its core can set off a powerful storm, which is very attractive and lethal. Like a spring, the tighter it contracts, the greater the force it ejects. There are also some poems that are bloated and lengthy, not light and transparent enough, and have no aura. The ancients paid attention to the word "practice" when writing poems. "Spring breeze is green in Jiang Nanan", and a word "green" is worth a thousand words. So should modern poetry. If one sentence can be clearly expressed, don't use two sentences, and don't gild the lily. Too much embellishment will weaken the power of language. When a sword is wrapped, it will lose its penetrating power.

The span of poetry is an insurmountable river. Only by plugging in the wings of imagination and grasping the creative promotion of life to art can we achieve our ideals.

Light the other side.

Second, extreme liberalization.

The unrestrained nature of the Internet leads to the extreme liberalization of poetry. It presents a scene of "squandering flowers and getting charming eyes". Online poetry is like a cultural fast food. Writers get psychological pleasure, but also create a lot of text garbage. If these are too late to chew, they will rush out of the body before being digested, and they will be excreted casually.

This kind of poem has three characteristics.

(1) Anti-image tendency. Some avant-garde poems and some amateur poems are particularly prominent in this respect. These poems, instead of paying attention to language and form, are more like keeping a running account.

Image is the basic unit of poetic form. The inner world and spiritual essence of poetry are the soul of poetry, which is presented through the carrier of image. That is, the artistic conception image is the skeleton and body, and the language is the clothes you wear. Different styles make different clothes. Concise, elegant and dignified. Clothes can be changed everywhere. But it must conform to the temperament and appearance. Otherwise, there will be a feeling of neither fish nor fowl. It's as funny as wearing a slim waist skirt for a fool. The soul, image and language of poetry complement each other and are inseparable. Poetry has no soul, like a pile of fat, and it is a prisoner of words. Without images, poetry is homeless. Only when the soul is attached to the body can it glow with vitality.

(2) it's beautiful.

Like the clothing market, the innovative collocation of poetry is in full swing, showing a popular trend. Innovation and creation should be progress and worth promoting. But many poems have been changed too much, which is not good. That's a strange smell. Words are randomly matched, with horns on the head and thorns on the body. Some poets like to wear smelly socks on their heads, which is unconventional and avant-garde. In fact, this has lost the most fundamental thing. Other poems are obscure in language, or dull and sticky, so mysterious. In a word, these poems all have a common feature, that is, they pursue others and are freaks in the output of online literature and traditional literature. Fresh, ethereal, interesting, just and loving poetry will always be the mainstream.

(3) The spiritual world has fallen.

We live in this world, and the education we received from childhood is to "pursue truth, goodness and beauty and oppose falsehood, ugliness and ugliness." We all have moral standards for doing things for people. Everyone will consciously abide by the moral bottom line. It's not illegal to violate morality, but others will say it's immoral. The same is true for us to write poems, and we can't violate the basic moral norms. Don't be self-centered and selfish, but have humanistic care. Poetry can be seen when it is posted online. Poems that spread obscenity, pornography, violence and terror are flying all over the internet, but they always seem less elegant and even sinful. Most importantly, if children see it, the consequences will be unimaginable. To be a poet, you must first learn to be a man and have the most basic conscience, love and humanity.

Third, impetuous phenomenon.

Obviously, today's poetry circles are impetuous. As a result of this excitement, many poets with excellent potential soon disappeared. Life needs peace. Poetry is the closest text to the soul. A writer should be tolerant of loneliness. A calm heart is qualified to decompose, tolerate and meditate on various situations. Poets express their views through everything in the world. Poetry describes what is inside. This heart includes one's own heart, the heart of society and the heart of the people. Poets are not only creators of poetry, but also cleaners of souls. Those schizophrenic words can destroy people's consciousness. Impetuousness is a morbid state. If you write poetry only for quantity and have no feelings, then don't write anything that is patchy. Poetry writing should be a marathon, not a sprint. A true poet should have the patience and courage to sharpen his sword for ten years.

There are many factors that marginalize poetry. The marginalization of poetry is bound to hinder the development of poetry. All tentacles extending to the edge of poetry are a strong rejection of poetry life.
