Lovely spring, you have disappeared!
Nowhere can your traces stay forever!
I see where your flowers are blooming,
It is full of restless commotion in autumn.
How sadly the autumn wind blows through
In the bush, it seems to be crying;
The dying sigh of nature
Trembling among the withered trees.
Another year has flown by,
How quickly! How quickly!
A question came from the forest:
Have you ever found happiness in your heart?
The noise in the forest, you wonderfully
hit my heart and made me sad!
Every year faithfully brings
withered leaves and withered hope. "Autumn has been a sad and lonely time since ancient times." There is a strong sentiment of autumn sadness in the works of countless poets at home and abroad, both at home and abroad. Reinau's "Autumn Regret" is written in a sad and touching way, with a desolate feeling secretly surging in the sad mood.
At the beginning of the poem, the poet feels the past spring, looking for and recalling the beauty of spring in the decadent environment of autumn. This feeling makes people feel even more sad. Because here, especially in autumn, nothing can stand the memory. Perhaps the memory itself is a pond of bitter water in autumn. Ancient Chinese poets often associated the sadness of autumn with the sadness of spring. When poets see a prosperous scene but are unable to make a difference, they will be sad for spring. In Reinau's poems, spring is a beautiful yearning. As a reference, the melancholy in autumn becomes even more painful. The autumn wind shuttles through the dense forest, causing some sounds of falling leaves. To the poet, this is like a cry in nature, as if the entire nature is experiencing death and disappearance, and everything is about to come to its own end. Maybe in winter, everything is covered with snow, and people's feelings will solidify. But now, in autumn, everything is experiencing decline and struggle. Why doesn't this make people feel desolate? What followed was the inevitable feeling of passage of time. The poet felt that behind the passage of time, he still accomplished nothing. In such a sad atmosphere, he seemed to hear the question in the forest - "Have you ever found happiness in your heart?" ?” The appearance of this sentence has the power to pierce people’s hearts. All the sad and decadent exterior scenes are condensed into this sentence. The poet uses the scene to express his emotions, allowing everything to be connected with his own mood through this sentence of inquiry. The last two sentences can be called the finishing touch of the whole poem. We can see that the poet has further expanded his sad feelings for autumn. It seems that the previous nostalgia for spring is no longer. For him, there are only unavoidable things every year. Autumn, every year, is accompanied by my own sad mood, only the withered leaves and withered hope. This was more despair than the previous melancholy mood.
The whole poem has a rigorous structure. Each stanza is composed of four sentences. The language is simple and smooth. The development of the poem is integrated with the expression of the author's mood, making it easy for people to empathize with it. Reinau (1802-1850), a great Austrian poet. In 1832, he published "Collected Poems" and achieved success. Although his works reveal the emotion of "human suffering" and he is called "Germany's Byron", he is also a poet with revolutionary democratic ideas.
