As a poet in the Tang Dynasty, why are most of Li Bai's poems heroic, while Du Fu's poems are rather sad?

As great poets in the Tang Dynasty, there are many reasons why Li Bai and Du Fu have different poetic styles. I think the most important factor is their different experiences and personalities.

Li Bai's personality is more cheerful. It is the truest portrayal of Li Bai that there is wine today and you are drunk today. Besides, Li Bai is rich. Even if he has no money, his friend is rich. No matter how lonely Li Bai is, he will not be as miserable as Du Fu. Therefore, Li Bai's poems and songs did not reflect the sufferings of the bottom people. His poems are all cheerful, not that the motherland is a great country, but that he is very happy to meet a friend today. Li Bai is a very self-centered person, and he advocates himself. And Li Bai caught up with the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty. He is the one who has seen the real prosperous scenery. He likes to travel, and he also likes to eat, drink and be merry. He was a respected great poet at that time, and he himself was a happy man, so naturally he couldn't write a poem of compassion for others. Even when he was down and out, he would write, "Are we Artemisia people?"

Du Fu, however, devoted himself to serving the motherland, but was depressed and frustrated. He can only spit in poetry and pin his love for the country on poetry. Du Fu suffered, and life was not as good as Li Bai. He knows well the sufferings of the people at the bottom, so his poems have a feeling of compassion. This is all his personal experience. His enthusiasm is not told, but written on paper. Moreover, Du Fu's career was not smooth at that time, and his accomplishments in poetry were unknown, which led to his depression.

Of course, Li Bai and Du Fu are both great poets now, which is admirable.
